The IMI2 Big Data for Better Outcomes (BD4BO) programme was presented to health care researchers and policy-makers in the Spring edition of Eurohealth. In their article, Big data for better outcomes: supporting health care system transformation in Europe, authors from the DO->IT, HARMONY and ROADMAP consortia worked together to map out the unfulfilled promises of big data in health care research and describe how the IMI funded public-private partnership will fill the gaps.
BD4BO responds to the key challenges faced by European health care systems. Focusing on exemplary disease areas, the BD4BO programme aims to drive the evolution towards outcomes-focused and value-based health care. BD4BO projects will develop platforms for integrating and analysing diverse data sets, focusing on outcomes that matter to patients and generating meaningful insights that will help improve health care.
